The Challenge
Exeter courier company, Deadline Distribution needed to create a modern yet reassuring identity that reflected its position as a leading parcel delivery company in Devon and drive local awareness of the business. A mobile optimised and responsive website was also required – an essential tool to maximise their sales opportunities and advertise their service offering.
Their online and offline presence needed to convey expertise, professionalism and be recognisable across the Devonian region. Consistency in the use of the brand identity across website, vehicles, uniforms, calling cards and stationery was crucial to this.
Solution
We set our design team to work with some research into other parcel delivery companies, then brainstorming ideas for a logo and colour scheme to create an identity that set them apart from their competition in the local area. The logo, colour scheme and typography formed the backbone of a set of brand guidelines with the chosen identity rolled out across a multitude of assets, including company letterheads, business cards, calling cards, email signatures and their website.
The chosen identity formed the basis for the look and feel of the website. However, to accommodate the need of the business and its customers, we needed to consider more than just visuals and front-end development; we had to incorporate a series of third-party platforms, and integrations into the backend.
